A signage partner that understands public sector procurement.
Government projects have a different rhythm than commercial work. Specifications drive scope. Submittals matter. Inspections happen on the city's timeline, not yours. Signs PQ has spent nearly two decades delivering signage for DFW municipalities — and the structure of how we run a project is built around that reality. We respond to RFPs and ITBs with complete bid packages, including signed drawings, materials cut-sheets, finish samples, and warranty documentation. We hold the right insurance limits for public work. We provide stamped engineering when required, coordinate with city engineers, and deliver shop drawings on schedule so review boards aren't holding up the project. When the spec calls for compliance with state contracting requirements, we meet it cleanly.
Standards that hold up in public review.
Public signage gets scrutinized — by accessibility advocates, by city councils, by the people who use it every day. We design and fabricate to the 2010 ADA Standards, the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) where applicable, and the specific local ordinances governing materials, illumination, and placement. UL 48 listings for illuminated signage are standard, not an upcharge. For monument signs, we engineer foundations to the geotechnical conditions of the site and provide structural calculations stamped by a Texas-licensed engineer. The result is signage that passes inspection on the first visit and serves the public for decades.
Wayfinding systems that actually work for citizens.
A municipal complex, a transit hub, or a public park is a navigation problem before it's a design problem. Signs PQ approaches wayfinding for government clients as a system: site survey, decision-point mapping, message hierarchy, sign family, and physical fabrication. We coordinate with planning departments, ADA compliance officers, and accessibility consultants to make sure the system serves every user — including those with low vision, mobility limitations, and limited English proficiency. Bilingual messaging, high-contrast typography, and tactile/Braille components on interior identification signage are standard deliverables when the project calls for them.
Long-term partnership, not transactional work.
Cities replace signage on long cycles — a monument sign placed in 2010 is still standing in 2025. Our installations are built to that horizon: anchor systems engineered to local wind loads, electrical components rated for 80,000+ hours, finishes that survive Texas UV and chloride exposure, and a documented warranty program that means a phone call resolves issues without a new procurement cycle. We maintain the install records and shop drawings for every government project we deliver, so future maintenance, replacement, or expansion phases pick up exactly where the last one ended.
Frequently Asked
Do you respond to formal RFPs and ITBs?
Yes. We submit complete bid packages including drawings, cut-sheets, samples, warranty documentation, and insurance certificates. If you need a vendor information form completed in advance, send it over and we'll return it within one business day.
Can you provide stamped engineering drawings?
Yes. We provide drawings stamped by a Texas-licensed Professional Engineer when the scope or jurisdiction requires it — typically for monument signs over 6 feet, illuminated pylons, and roof-mounted installations.
How do you handle change orders mid-project?
Documented in writing, priced before work begins, and routed through the contracting officer or project manager you designate. We don't do verbal change orders on public work.
